Resilience
Resilience can be defined as “the ability to cope with adversity and adapt to change”. This is an essential life skill that many adults would love to develop further. We can help our children to become more resilient by gaining flexibility in their minds as well as their bodies, through yoga.
The earlier in life we can learn to adapt to change without anxiety, the more we will be able to expand our personal comfort zone and open ourselves up to infinite possibilities. Yoga classes offer a safe space for children to try new movements and ideas, testing their bodies in a supportive and encouraging environment. Children feel secure and grounded on their yoga mats. The poses and activities give children the ability to feel comfortable being ‘in the moment’. Children learn that their bodies and emotions will feel different at different times and are able to acknowledge and accept and honour this.
